Steelton Borough Council President, Brian Proctor, Endorses Democrat Tom Brier in Race to Unseat Scott Perry

STEELTON, PA --- Steelton Borough Council President, Brian Proctor, has endorsed Democrat Tom Brier in his bid to become the next Congressman from the Tenth Congressional District of Pennsylvania.

“Unlike his opponents, Tom has been a constant presence in the Steelton community,” Proctor said. “From attending community events, to supporting local businesses, to hosting a town hall, Tom has made clear that he is committed to improving the lives of Steelton residents. Tom is just the person we need in Congress, and he has my fullest endorsement.”

Proctor, a lifelong resident of Steelton, was first elected to the Borough Council in 2014 and is currently serving a three-year term as President. Under his leadership, Steelton partnered with the Dauphin County Land Bank to demolish abandoned properties and acquired Dauphin County’s first medical marijuana dispensary. The Borough also opened the region’s first free, public skate park, and engaged a developer for a large mixed-use development project.

Brier is an attorney, author, and educator who was born and raised in Hershey, PA. Like Proctor, he is a strong advocate for criminal justice reform, economic equality, and ending the crisis of gun violence. He is running for Congress because he believes it is time for a new generation of leadership in government—a generation comprised of the young in age and the young in spirit; a generation that prefers creative experimentation to rigid ideology; and a generation prepared to offer a new vision for recapturing America’s moral leadership in the world.

“Tom’s unique qualifications will allow him to hit the ground running in Congress and make an immediate impact on people’s lives,” Proctor said. “He gives me hope for the future.”
