Campaign Finance Reform
I am running for the people of Central Pennsylvania, not corporate interests. I therefore will not take a dime of corporate PAC money.
Few issues, in my opinion, are as important as campaign finance reform. In the past decade, the Supreme Court has issued multiple decisions granting corporations the right to spend unlimited amounts of money in federal elections. As a result, many candidates for public office seek election by relying solely on the support of dark money donors who shield their identity from the public under the guise of “speech.” This cannot stand.
Action must be taken now to control the corrupt influence that corporations and dark money have on our election system. As your representative in Congress, I will make campaign finance reform a top priority. To borrow from Theodore Roosevelt, “There is no enemy of free government more dangerous and none so insidious as the corruption of the electorate.” Therefore, “all contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be forbidden by law.”
